Fashion Friday: GNO and the Power of Accessories

Girls Night Out is definitely on the top of my fun things to do list. Often this entails Jer coming home from work and me hauling butt up stairs to get dressed in a flash and head out the door to meet the ladies for happy hour(s). An easy, go-to look is a classic pencil skirt with a boxy blouse on top. Flattering on nearly every figure, and with sheer looks abounding this season, you can find the gorgeous ones that have a fitted cami under a sheer blouse. Flirty and fun!

The trick to pulling off a boxy blouse without looking shapeless is to pair it with a long necklace or pendant and a form fitting pencil skirt or pants that are fitted through at least the thigh. But the necklace is the key part.

Here’s this evening’s GNO look:

A classic pencil skirt with a drop shoulder sheer boxy blouse. I love this blouse as the fitted cami underneath is covered in sequence that you can see a slight sparkle of with movement.

This is the necklace and statement earrings I’ve paired it with.

Coral and purple are a beautiful color combination. On a side note, you can see a glimpse of the sequins here.

This is the bag I’ve chosen to wear with it to go with my patent leather peep toes

Now here’s the same look without the necklace.

Shapeless. Behold the Power of Accessories.

Since this is an evening affair I’m sporting a smokey eye of sorts.
