Two years ago, I became Mom to the fabulous E (who will always be my Baby E).
Having taught Early Childhood Education with a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Ed for over five years, I knew I was the best person, as her mom and a well trained teacher, to be her primary caregiver. So I became a full tim Stay ay Home Mom.
Like so many other teachers and Military wives, I didn’t have just one career path. I’ve also worked as a Makeup Artist (my passion) and a stylist (my hobby that pays). I wanted a way to keep my hands in all of these areas while remaining a Stay at Home mom. So I started a blog, MeandBabyE.com.
It’s been an interesting journey figuring out what my little piece of the internet is all about. Then, about a year into it, it hit me. In all of my time spent with women, the moms I worked with as a teacher, and my clients as a beauty consultant and stylist, there was always one overarching theme: Feeling stuck. I’d get to know a student’s mom, or a client, and the conversation would go something like this:
“I feel stuck. Stuck in my style, how I present myself, and how I feel about myself. I’d love to make positive changes in my life, but I have no idea where to start, so I don’t.”
Making positive changes in your life as a busy woman, and especially as a mom, can be hard to do, whether it’s finding the time, or feeling selfish as your spending time on you and you alone. But here’s the thing: You are at your best in all areas of your life: work, home, family, marriage, and friends when you feel your best. You owe it to yourself, and to those you love.
